"One of our requirements for a reverse mortgage is that all persons named on the title of the property must be 62 years or over. If your wife isn't named on the property title, then you can certainly look into taking out a reverse mortgage. If your wife is named, then you will need to either wait for her to be eligible, or you if you really want to pursue a reverse mortgage, you could discuss removing her from the property title until she reaches 62 years old. Do keep in mind that if she is removed from the title and something was to happen to you, the loan would be due and she would have to repay it or move out. But once her name is on the title and the reverse mortgage, then she may stay in your home for the lifetime of the reverse mortgage and continue to benefit from the money you have released from your home.
